In Hawaii, a hotel room can run from around $100 to close to $1,000, depending on the property and the services provided. For the most part, hotels in Hawaii need not cost more than $300 a night for a pleasant, clean and comfortable room. A few examples of hotels with a range of choices are the Pacific Beach Hotel, Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki and the Maui Hawaii Hotel. At the Pacific Beach Hotel, all rooms haves lanais and beautiful mountain views, and rates range from $260 all the way up to a suite at $2200. The Hawaii Prince Hotel offers a full complement of amenities for pleasure and business, including a hot oshibori towel upon arrival, four restaurants serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, brunch and light snacks, and a golf course with free shuttle service. The Prince Room and Breakfast package starts at $295 a night, with other similar packages including the Prince Special at $360 a night. This package includes a daily breakfast buffet for two and a midsize car rental. If you are a member or former member of the military, you could be eligible to stay at a Hawaii military hotel like the Hale Koa in Waikiki. Depending on your military status, a standard room ranges from $79 to $116, with Deluxe oceanfront rooms as high as $224. And, despite the concern about a decreasing number of hotel rooms in Hawaii, there are still plenty of moderately-priced and even downright cheap Hawaii hotels that can be the starting point for a relaxing and exciting time on the islands. And mind you, cheap hotels in Hawaii don’t have to be undesirable. Every traveler has his or her opinion on what is important in a hotel, and you will read hotel reviews on websites that will vary greatly. Use your common sense, read up on some Hawaii hotels in locations that interest you, and talk to people you trust, including a travel agent, who can take the mystery out of the huge number of hotels Hawaii has to offer.
